He would just talk about, oh, you know...
they raised me in the way of the Lord, but then you'd hear more and you're like, this is not, this is not it.
This was abuse, you know?
And, and so then you hear a story and he just had this kind of untamed gift.
Like you talked about with your mentor for communication and charisma and all this.
And so it's like,
It just kind of went unbridled and he went straight into like the zeal thing and then just quickly fell into like desiring of the family that he never had and growing up and some misogynism.
So it's recreated that and you're like, man, it just makes sense to where I'm like, you didn't have the access to the tools for that.
healing and like we talked about other counseling you know like he didn't have the access to that so it kind of broke my heart and i kind of began my journey of forgiveness with knowing his story and and really i think if we sat with any of the perpetrators in our life their stories our heart would probably break for the their little inner child you know for the things they had to endure
So it kind of, it does make sense, but it is hard to justify when Christians, and that's where I think when Christians fail miserably, but that's where I think, and this is kind of a hot take, but, and I'd be curious to hear what y'all think on this, and I don't want to ever spread anything not theological, but I think when Jesus said count the cost, it allowed for maybe a little bit more space for deconstruction than we allow in evangelical circles.
Like for me, the deconstruction of, oh, women aren't less than men, which I genuinely believed women were less than men.
And so it was like taking that down or taking down, I don't need a spiritual father or a mediator between me and God, taking down all the deconstructing some things.
And I kind of just got to the cornerstone and I was like, Oh, I like this.
Like, this is great.
the mediator thing, like needing a covering, needing a covering between you and God.
And there's a verse in first John that says, you don't need any man to teach you for you have been given the Holy spirit and he'll teach you everything that you need to know.
And that having a pastor is, is a servant washing feet role as well as a leader, not a, right.
Right.
Oh, that's an interesting question.
I mean, for me, my journey started with learning to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit for myself, which is so essential.
