After Ron Orsini was killed, within a couple of days, I called the prosecutor and I told him about my involvement with Mary Lee Orsini.
It was in the first week of November, 1980.
I was told there was a lady on the phone by the name of Mary Lee Orsini that wanted to talk with me.
So I spoke with her.
She told me she would like to see me about a personal matter.
Usually when people set an appointment with me and came into the office, it might be a business attire.
and she came in with a tight-fitting silk blouse, opened down the middle.
She had on a skirt, and it was split on the side.
She told me that her husband was Ron Orsini, and she had come to me to do what is commonly known as an activities check on her husband.
She told me that she was virtually certain.
She said,
that Ron had become involved in the buying and selling and transporting drugs.
I told her that we would have to do a surveillance.
We watched him for the next week, starting on Monday morning.
We did that every day, Monday through Friday, and we saw nothing out of the ordinary.
We determined that they were behind on their bills.
The credit report told me that, and it included delinquency on their home mortgage.
I was telling her that I cannot keep working unless you can pay me.
She made the statement, well, perhaps we could barter.
I said, what do you have that you can give me that would compensate for the money that you owe me?
