I had a classic conversation with an Aucklander the other day having lunch and I said that I was headed down to Christchurch to go to the Warriors game and he looks at me and he goes,
He goes, what's this stadium like?
And I went for a super round, and I've been to a lot of stadiums around the world.
It's not the flashiest of stadiums.
It's very basic.
Yeah.
Very basic.
It's covered.
There's nothing flash about it.
There's no flashy LED lights on the outside like Caltech in Hong Kong or like the Allegiant in Vegas.
It doesn't look spectacular, but it is in the perfect location downtown.
And he just looked at me and goes, I'm just sick of fucking hearing about it.
That's the classic Auckland response.
He goes, I'm just sick of it, man.
Because it's not about Auckland.
Because it can't be that good, can it?
And I was like, it is that good because it's in just like spitting distance from all the pubs and bars and accommodation.
