One of the uh canvassers was told that she could make up names or use anyone else's name.
She would return to the office at the end of her shift and fill in enough blank sheets with made up people so that she reached her quota.
And uh a supervisor as it goes unnamed here, often helped fill in the fabricated applications.
Um and the supervisor said you can just make up the names on the form and get paid.
And another uh canvaser said, He would just sit in his car the whole shift and will put down a name of a friend or a relative in order to have something to turn in with his clipboard.
That's about as fake of an oplic uh uh um operation as you can get.
However
The DOJ tries to close this case.
And so on March sixteenth
The United States Attorney for the Western District of Michigan, and that's referred to as USA MIW
was fully informed of the facts of the case and the USA advised that his office would prosecute.
So everything was going along
Well and then suddenly
He writes to FBI Detroit, he says
Blank, where you're going to find out this is the DOJ, has formally advised us that no further action should be taken in this district at this time.
And
Now, not only did DOJ inform them not to take action, but then they want to try to make it their decision.
This is where it gets really interesting.
So the DOJ, which is PIN, which is the public integrity section, says that I understand based on previous calls with you and the United States Attorney's Office in the Western District of Michigan, that your respective offices have evaluated the blank matter.
