And China, you know, if you want China to stop, the best thing to do is to signal that you take this seriously.
The United States started this race, they've been running it so hard and fast.
And
been the ones to like threaten, you know, other countries with this technology and has a president who's threatening to destroy civilizations.
And, you know, in the US we talked about like but China.
But in China, the butt America argument is much stronger.
And so if if the United States like credibly pauses development and then goes to China and it's like, hey, we want you to do this too, and we are going to use sticks and carrots, you know, to negotiate a a deal that's binding and verifiable.
You know, this is a piece that people uh often are like, oh, you'll never be able to trust them.
And it's like, I think neither of these countries should trust the other one for a bunch of reasons.
But you can create verification tools, which is how we did this in the Cold War.
You know, the USSR and the United States had more bad blood between us than China and the United States now.
And they just created these ways to like confirm, like, okay, you actually destroyed those nukes.
And in AI, it's a bit trickier in some ways, but there's technology that's being developed right now.
There's institutional arrangements.
And you could just like put auditors in like all the companies.
You know, there's like a handful of companies that have any shot at doing this.
Everybody knows who they are.
It takes tens of billions or hundreds of billions of dollars to compete.
And so it's actually pretty trivial for either country to stop.
