He didn't even make it into, you know, Pennsylvania the first time, which we believe he was trying to.
And that culminated in the Battle of Antietam or the Battle of Sharpsburg.
He kind of went back.
But things are different.
He's got an even more successful and larger army in June of 1863.
This is the armies near their peaks, the Army of the Potomac for the north and Lee's Army of Northern Virginia.
So they're about as large as they're ever going to be.
Lee is at the zenith of his career.
He doesn't know this at the time, but of course, he seems to be like right there at that time.
It seems like this is the time to impact America.
The elections of 1864 to take the war into the north, to strengthen the peace movement.
So he hadn't done it on the scale.
He didn't have so much hope, I think, realistic or reasonable hope as he could have this time when he's got this army on this day or this month in 1863.
Yeah, there's a little bit.
There's kind of a handful of things to it.
So you're perfectly right.
Virginia and so much of the South has hosted the Civil War.
So far, farmers really never get the foothold that they want on a broad scale.
So, of course, bring the war to the North while also feeding the Confederacy as best they can.
This is something that was a challenge for them, even in what is seen as an agrarian society.
