And car was fast, we were going really well.
And there was only one difference between our car and the HRT car in the braking package, is we used a different rear brake pad.
Just Rick and I liked the particular compounded brake pad.
And what we didn't find in practicing qualifying, and we found at the end of the first stint when Rick was driving, is that brake pad was getting too hot and boiling the brake fluid in the rear caliper.
So then the pedal would just go to the floor.
So Rick jumped on the brake pedal one lap towards the end of his stint.
I always had my helmet on, so we weren't far away from a fuel stop.
And Rick jumped on the brake pedal at the end of Conrod and the pedal just went the floor and then just grabbed the rears and speared him off and tore the front splitter off it.
So anyway, I got back in, put the front splitter on it and Rick's like, got no brakes.
And took off and yeah, we had no brakes.
So we couldn't work out what was going on.
It was like just the pedals going the floor.
So we just kept bleeding the brakes and that would fix it for a while because it would get fresh fluid in the caliper.
So the fluid would work for a while, then you'd boil it and then the pedal would go long.
And it got to the point where I was just like, this is dangerous.
Like I was left foot braking just so that I could pump the pedal.
