Is it a case of adding more players or does the club need something else to take that step?

Well, I think we should probably start with you, Alan, on this one.

It's more difficult for Newcastle to do that now, isn't it?

Even though they've probably got the wealthiest owners in world football.

Yeah, it's an interesting one, though, isn't it?

Also with Newcastle and the PSR rules, because I think they were brought in for the right reasons, you know, to protect clubs against themselves.

But I suppose if you have got owners, whatever you think about state-owned football clubs, that's a different issue.
