China endured its century of humiliation for that, of which it's only just coming back from.
History teaches us if you allow incredibly wealthy, incredibly powerful people to grow their wealth and power completely unchecked, they will in almost all cases try to take the world over and try to monopolize.

We've seen this again and again throughout history, and we are quite clearly repeating that mistake now.
