They sent out promotional joysticks for that.
I don't know what the fuck they were. They weren't any good. I know that.

That's what they sent me. Fucking crudes. What is this? It was a dock and those two sticks.

And I was like, whatever. Two extra Joy-Cons if we ever need them. You know? What are we doing? Why are the Croods sending this stuff out?

Why are we even... I'm sorry I blew it up.

So did you say that these are games that we all know to have been cancelled or games that may still actually be coming out?

I'll be honest with you. It doesn't, this doesn't interest me a whole lot, especially if, if, if the games are still coming out, then maybe, you know, it's an unofficial, I mean, I don't like it when things leak. I just, you know, I don't think it's good for the game. I don't think it's good for the creators. It bums them out. You know, we see this kind of, these kinds of things all the time. Um,

No, I... Well... There's not a simple answer to that question, because I think achievements are a complex issue. But I'm glad that Nintendo... I saw Barrett applauding as well. I'm glad he agrees with me. I don't think the system needs them. I'm glad to see Nintendo, as usual, saying, like, we don't feel the need to jump onto the same bandwagon as everyone else.

Xbox introduced this concept, right? Sony then copied it with trophies. Steam copied it with their achievements. And many, many games now have their own inbuilt achievement systems, right? Um... It's funny. It's interesting. I thought a lot about this because I actually sat a couple of years ago at a game developers conference. I sat at DICE.

I sat on a round table of other game developers and people that are into this kind of shit talking about achievements. Are they good? Are they bad? Are they a net positive? I think it's like anything else. It's how you use them. I have played games where I really wanted to get the achievements because they were structured and designed in an interesting way.

But a lot of achievements are not well designed and they just amount to kind of busy work. It's like, anytime you're going like, I don't really want to be doing this, but I want the trophy or I want the achievement, you failed, right? It should add to the fun, not just become another fucking grind, right? And so there are good ways to implement achievements and bad ways to implement achievements.
