All I wanted to do was not have a proper job.

So I was like, you know, if I just keep making songs, I'm not going to have to go do that.

And it's so brilliant because I was so ignorant because I had no concept.

If someone had told me that all these years later, I could be here in Nashville, we'd be talking.

I didn't know that was a possibility.

Oh my God.

It's just such an incredible thing to hear from anybody.

Um, and you know, being in a band, maybe it's different from standup, but we're just needy.

There's a needy quality to it.

You know, you want people to like it.

I don't go so far as to do that thing where someone comes in the dressing room and you go, what'd you think of it?

I don't do that, but I'm secretly thinking, hoping that they really enjoyed it, you know?

So, um,

it's just wild, you know, when you have a career for a matter of time, like, you know, as you have had, it's wild to have that perspective, to think that you've been around long enough to sort of matter to people on a wider scale than like, I love that song, you know?

I mean, yeah.

So it's, it's incredible.

And just, it's sort of,

gives you that strength to want to continue on.

And it gives a real humility and a sense of devotion to whatever your craft is, you know?

And so it just makes me want to do better shows and do better songs.
