i get this movie and he told me later that he wanted to hire me because he wanted at least somebody on the set who knew what the movie was he's like because i sure don't so that was great okay accidental tourist then kind of now everything changes because you get nominated and then you win an academy award for that you're pretty young still yeah

I'm just like 32 or something.

Yeah.

Actually, so for that movie, I hired an acting coach.

I had studied acting, but I had never worked with a coach.

But I thought, oh, this is so important.

I don't want to mess it up.

And he actually had heard what Bill is like to work with.

So he was like, we're going to proof you from being drawn off track by the way he is.

Because he did live in a dark place.

I think all of it was kind of painful for him in some way.

And so I was such a caretaky, people pleaser type.

If he had been like that and I had no idea he was going to be like that, all I would be trying to do is make him happy, fix him up.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

But...

I learned what to do if that happened.

The coach said, if you say, oh, how are you?

And he says, I'm terrible.

You're going to say, I'm sorry to hear that.

Okay.
