And my understanding is I think June 20th, it has to be approved by the,
City Council and before the city attorney or maybe even proved by the city attorney.
And then it would go to the ballot and require two thirds majority in the fall.
So it is a long way to go in terms of it actually happening.
But it's been something that that I mean, it has the potential to be a massive.
national story because there are non-profit clubs throughout the country that um other cities might see this as a opportunity to add attacks um and you know i don't i i this is a very big place and there are a lot of golfers so we can't really have the scottish model
that would help the perception of these clubs.
But part of their problem is that they are not seen as very community-oriented.
So that's going to add layers to this that I don't know what the answer is.
Because, again, we just have too many people.
There's nothing they could do to...
fill the demand if they had a few random tee times and tried to reach out and um and there are certain clubs that that have been really great or try to be community stewards you know wilshire and bel air they have a lot of uh charity events and and the fun friends of golf raises a ton of money for high school and college golf programs here they welcome all the teams at bel air wilshire rick riley great pro
Got the teams out there, and you can imagine there's other clubs that aren't quite as welcoming.
I noted it in my newsletter, so it's not a secret.
Riviera is a for-profit, but they don't have women's golf teams out there.
They don't have Palisades High.
We had to hear a lot about Amy Alcott last week, local legend.
Um, we didn't hear the part where Amy, Amy had to play on the boys team at Pali High.
Pali High now has a, um, a girls team, which is amazing.
