This bookshop was never going to succeed.

Something was going to go wrong.

Whether it was the child coming into work, whether it was her attitude to some of the locals...

Whether it was the book she was buying, whether she didn't have enough money to finance it properly, you always knew it was going to end in disaster.

Now, I'm not discussing her quality as a writer or her insights.

She's clearly class act, full stop.

But it didn't appeal to me.
