And at this time, McSween's people, including.
the people that became the regulators, they're not the regulators at this point.
They've been stripped of their lawman status, but they're not regulators yet.
They become regulators with the killing of Brady.
But they are defending Alex McSween from being arrested by William Brady because they know that William Brady has made comments that Alex McSween will not survive being in jail in Lincoln.
After he's arrested by himself.
So it is not in revenge for the murder of Tunstall.

And that occurred on April 28th, 1871.
Billy has been confined on the second floor of the Lincoln County Courthouse in just a regular room.
