The Trump administration even had mixed guidance on this debate between its agencies.
If you ask the Department of Homeland Security, they say conditions have improved sufficiently to support the return of Haitian nationals.
However, the U.S.
Secretary of State's office considers Haiti unsafe to travel to and notes commercial flights from the U.S.
to the country's capital, Port-au-Prince, are suspended.
Mark Fiquier, with Columbus' Haitian Community Network, says more than 30,000 Haitians call Central Ohio home, including roughly 18,000 who are here through the TPS program.
Fiquier says he is telling those now at risk of being deported to get their affairs in order and legal documents ready.
