She has made many decisions as the leader of the government that have not just angered me politically but hurt me personally on issues that I care deeply about that I've spent a lot of time working on and still when I see this I was angry for her but more importantly I was angry for women and girls across our country and
We really need to drop this idea that sexist abuse is okay when we deem the person as unlikable or unpopular and we think it's happening to the right kind of woman because the reality is that is just not the impact that it's having.
The moment that we accept this behaviour towards one woman, it contributes to the broader societal and cultural problem that we are experiencing significantly right now
that is resulting in countless women and girls being killed across our country every single year.
Gendered violence starts with words.
It starts with disrespect.
And if we don't call it out, no matter who it's happening to, we're putting every single woman at risk in our country.
It's not just women in public life.
It's women in our sporting clubs, our schools, workplaces, communities.
And it's everyone's responsibility to condemn this.
This kind of commentary is not political discourse.
It's sexism and it's misogyny and it needs to be stamped out.
Yeah, I'm not particularly tolerant of men who decide that
what they're doing is not sexist or is not misogynistic behaviour when women say what you are doing is gendered criticism and it is impacting us in a significant way in our public roles and in our public lives.
they really have an obligation to listen.
I also receive the same feedback quite regularly of men who write the most horrific things about me who claim that they're only saying it about me and they wouldn't say it about someone else.
And that just doesn't make it okay.
