I used to watch Oprah with my grandma when I was growing up.

And honestly, there's only been a few of them, I think, in my life, whether it come to life moments or work moments.

But that was one.

I remember I had been filling in doing the sports presenting job on News Breakfast.

I'd got a pretty decent stint just with filling in with different holidays and things.

And people started noticing me and I started getting attention from different networks.

I remember Channel 9 called me and they said, hey, we've got this opportunity for you to be the weekend sports presenter if you want to move back to Brisbane.

And I remember at the time being like that is all that eight-year-old, nine-year-old who was obsessed with the Brisbane Broncos would want to do.

Like the full-time sports presenter was Wally Lewis, the king.

And so even just the thought of being in the same room as him, I was like, what?

And I remember I think I had like a week to think about it and I just, it was like in my bones I was like, I should want that because that's what I'd worked so hard for and I wouldn't have to get up at 1.30 in the morning anymore and I could go home, be closer to my family.

But I had also just started dating Robert.

And I wasn't too sure where that was going, but I knew that I liked him pretty, like a lot, pretty early on.

And I was like, oh, if I move to Brisbane, like what happens to that?

And then also if I move to Brisbane, I think I'd only been at News Breakfast for maybe not even a year.

And I'm like, okay, then that's me also leaving the ABC.

The ABC is all I've ever known.

Going into a commercial network, there's so much different change.

However, that should be what I want.

Like I should want that.
