From the point of view of migration here and the impact since 2022, the number of Ukrainians that are being hosted by Kerry, international protection applicants as well, a high proportion because of the fact that Kerry has so much tourist accommodation and it was an emergency at the time.
There was September 24 on 10,000 Ukrainians living in Kerry.
That number is a good deal less now.
It dropped by 30%.
The year afterwards, it's even lower now.
And that's put pressures on locally in terms of tourist accommodation, the number of people who can stay here, taxi drivers, cafes, restaurants.
The wider aspect of it, though, was how many tourists will be able to come and will they be able to go on activity tours, cafes, bars, restaurants.
So there was pressure points there, undoubtedly.
I think the county adapted.
I think most people understood that.
that this was, particularly in regards to the Ukrainian situation, a temporary, over a number of years situation.
And they've added a lot to the community as well.
So people have been dealing with it, but there is that wider concern there about what will happen in the future.
If it's now being used as a weapon by countries against each other, then what level of chaos will that lead to?
There's five and a half thousand excess deaths in France.
And the number in Europe will be larger than that, obviously, because of it.
