So if it hadn't been for the injury to Lachman, I'm not sure that Bowen would have got capped.

I think he might now.

I'd be surprised if Sam Miller gets capped on this tour the way it's panned out.

because it's such a competitive tournament now, because all these results matter and every point matters, it does have given an extra edge to these end-of-year matches, end-of-season matches.

Farrar himself being such a competitive animal, he'll want, like I said earlier, he'll want Ireland to go as far as possible, as high up as possible.

He loves to see Ireland make the inaugural final in Twickenham, I'm sure, at the end of November.

And I just think that slightly reduces his scope

for experimentation and also his respect for Japan and Eddie Jones so of the uncapped players I'd like to see Bone in the 23 now that Jeremy Lachman's out obviously that should happen but it would be nice to see Jansen play I would like you'd like to see him in green get one cap on this tour even if it was off the bench against Japan

And lots of Leinster fans have asked me, is there any chance Joe will come back?

A lot of Leinster fans would like to see Joe Schmidt come back.

And he is going to be finished with Australia in two games more time.

So what's he going to do next?

And of course, he gave a very evasive answer.

Joe has an ego like all coaches, and I'm sure he likes the idea of still being covetous.

But he certainly sounded and has sounded for a while now like a man who, to me, wants to step back a little bit from this head coaching lark.
