One can have a political argument with DSA about why their views on Cuba are simplistic, why it's unfortunate that when they've traveled to Cuba to draw attention to U.S.
sanctions, they seem to echo a reading of
of the Cuban situation that is very much the Cuban government's in which the Cuban government has zero responsibility.
It's quite another thing to insinuate that they are agents of influence for the Cuban government itself, because that is not just a political argument about disagreement on the train of free speech.
It's an argument about disloyalty.

The most frequent way with which the Cuban government seeks to delegitimize those groups through state media is to paint them as simply agents of U.S.
empire.
There are U.S.
government programs for democracy promotion that some of these groups are plugged into and benefit from.
And so the Cuban government will say...
These groups, because they're getting U.S.
funding, they're incapable of thinking of their own ideas.
They're a part of a foreign plot.
That basic tactic of saying that dissent can't be organic.
