He says, "'Tis high time to put the Dutch out of a capacity of doing mischief again."
And so he seizes this island.
And over the course of the coming months, there will be peace negotiations between the English and the Dutch.

But anyway, they come to negotiations at Breda, the town of Breda in Holland, and they discuss what they're going to do.
And the ensuing Treaty of Breda decides the following thing.
that in return for the Dutch being allowed to keep the island of Ran in the Banda Islands, the English will get to control and keep New Amsterdam, which they decide in honour of James, Duke of York, to name New York.
And Charles II says to his brother, "'Tis a place of great importance."
He says, "'We've got the better of it, and tis now called New York.'"
