Honestly, man, I grew up, I had one dream, and that was to play in the NBA. That was the only dream I ever had. The basketball, I always tell my wife, baby, you was the second love of my life, baby, all right? I met you when I was grown. I was 21. Now, come on now. I met this right here when I was five, six. And that was the only dream I ever had. I never grew up rapping.
I didn't even listen to rap music like that. I mean, unless it was on the radio. Because I didn't have cable TV growing up. So I never seen rap videos. I never, you know what I mean? I grew up poor. So... I come home from school, man, I pick that basketball up, I go to the court. You know what I'm saying? I played in all the leagues around the city, you know, things like that.
So that was really my only dream. And in college, a friend of mine had a little setup in his room, and then one day we was like, let's go write something. And we went, you know, I came back, I was the first one to rap. And when I started rapping, they were sitting there like,
bro what the you should be a rapper you gotta understand I'm like stop playing me man I ain't no rapper like this is how I'm talking to him like stop y'all taking chill out man I ain't no rapper man like then towards the end of the year basketball season is over we go home and in the hood it's like this big cipher Like going on. So I just walk up and after a while I say, man, I got something.
And everybody like, oh, because they know me from playing basketball. They don't know me from rapping. And then I start rapping. And after every line, they like, oh, oh. And then when I get done, like, they like, oh. Rap again. I'm like, oh, no, I ain't got no more raps. I only got one rap. They're like, man, that ain't shit. How are you that nice? You only got one rap.
