We were either leading or we were their bouts.

And then what I mean, the wheels came off.

The wheels came off and we just ran out of steam.

So, yeah, it's very rare that you can get back to that level of stimulation that you need to be mentally and physically strong.

in such a short period after winning something like when you start a season stick that goal up in the thing this is what we want to do we want to be competitive we want to win the champions cup and you you achieve that you know remember like the for kids that are doing the leaving cert and everything like i'm sure you remember as well and i think when you finish your leaving cert it was just that emotional drain just goes and your body just just gives up it's almost the same when you win a major tournament like that

and it is really really hard to get back to that level of intensity and in teams we played with like we won and then i think one of the years we lost a monster in the urc i think we lost to ospreys one year and we tried to rotate the team we tried everything but yeah it's really it's really really hard and so it wasn't massively surprising and that's kind of been a story of bordeaux this season but it was when you look at the quality of rugby that was being played

the top 14, it's almost, you almost feel like you're cheating on the URC when you kind of have more than one eye on the top 14.

Well,

I like the French system.

I like that playoff.

Two get a bye week and then there's a playoff and then they go into semifinals.

Four to six play a playoff and then the top two get a bye.

It's nice, isn't it?

Wouldn't this format, wouldn't it work so much better with the URC?

I think that format would work.

Rather than a week off before the final, I think this would have been given, you know, who we wanted to.

You'd have to go back to look at historical scheduling of leagues and everything and who had the most power.

So when the Champions Cup came in or the European Cup came back in, then the French and the English teams were hazardly involved.

So they were never really putting much credence in it.

So they were never going to give a priority over their own leagues.
