But the 10s are...

not playing in behind not all the time it's just this there's very little change up from Leinster and then the change up was bringing on Harry Byrne who tried to play too flat at the line so you're getting somebody who's too deep and then it looks great but if you've got a well organised defence it doesn't ultimately deliver enough

or you're not taking advantage of what it does deliver.

So like, you know, when you do go in the second line and you stretch a defense, what you're doing next is as important as what you've just done.

So if you've stretched a defense over there, you have to be able to pick the holes on the next phase or the next two phases.

And I don't think Leinster do that very well.

I don't know whether it's the nine or the tens responsibility or just in general, the backs responsibilities.

They don't build phases naturally and organically well.

And so then the change-up was Harry Byrne came on, and he played almost too flat at the line, but was engaged.

You could see he was trying to make up for lost time, but I think the momentum had swung so badly at that stage to the Stormers that he was caught between him trying to impose himself on the game

rather than actually trying to manage the game that was in front of them.

And this would be a criticism for both 10s.

I don't think they managed the game particularly well.

Pre-Six Nations, it was starting to move towards Harry Byrne and had an okay semi-final, didn't have a great final.

But you either back him or you don't back him.

Because it is, and I've said this before, it is two completely different styles of play.

So you've gotten comfortable with one as your starting 10, and then you've gone, okay, it hasn't worked over there, so we're going to go back over here.

and he looks great in a game against a Lions team that have been on the jolly for two weeks and then comes up against a decent Stormers team and doesn't have the same impact.

And I don't think this necessarily feeds directly into Leo or to Jack Nienemberg, but you kind of have to look at what is happening with Blenendael and go, surely you as the attack coach have to have a large say in this.
