very efficient when 22 entries for tries very good and I don't want to be disparaging or disrespectful to Japan but if you're talking about the third ranked team against the 12th you would expect Ireland to be able to convert 22 entries so you get a tick for that
And I don't know which it is.
It's the inability to be able to play out from Ireland.
So from our 22 up to the opposition 22, we're not particularly good at... Important to qualify by launching an attack.
It doesn't mean you have to go 80 metres and score a try, but you can try and pull players out of positions.
You can try and maybe create a mismatch and you can maybe try and create a little bit of space in a wider channel
and maybe put a kick through or something.
Or you can just maybe make 20, 30 metres and then you can build a kick on your own terms.
If you look at what France did, look at the interplay between their outside backs and what do I mean by interplay?
The amount of times they were passing and getting the ball back
And the running arcs they're doing, that was a huge second half from them against Australia.
But their ability to create mismatches and take them, regardless of where they are in the field.
And we are not there yet.
So that's OK.
We kicked an awful lot of box kicks.
We were reasonably competitive in the air.
But when we got transitioned, there was still no appetite to capitalise on it.
How we manage those possessions in that area of the field will be enough against lower ranked teams.
It will be not enough against teams with bigger packs and the top one, two in the world.
