That is a deep feeling, like being in that place and feeling that sense of failure.
It's a lot harder than what we are feeling X amount of years on or whatever from whichever failure.
So how do you...
actually, in that moment, feel that failure and utilise it in the right direction rather than holding you back.
Yeah, I think that's really, really good practical advice on so many different levels.
I think that on the side you're saying, absolutely, you may well not even want that job and it may well just be a label that you see as the version of external validation that you need to complete your self-worth or whatever it might be.
You might also meet that person and realise you need to double down because that's exactly what you want.
But I think that it's so right, particularly with social media now, that actually it's very easy to see all these different versions of a life that you don't have and to automatically assume that you want the life of the CEO, for example, whilst actually only wanting 40% of the things in their life.
And that 40% is the glitzy side you see on social media.
Yeah.
And I think that it's very hard to show that 100% because even I can say that.
And still, if I'm having a shit day, I'm not going to be doing my job and posting on my stories.
Like, I'm just not because I need to do my job and I'm having a shit day.
So that's the last thing I want to do.
And I think that...
Even just like practically from the point of view, I think so many people have these ideas in their heads of like, I want to do this or I want to be this or whatever it might be.
The actual execution of that, it's going to take you so long to work out whether you actually want that and being able to put yourself close to someone who is doing that and learn as much as possible about the pros and cons and whether that suits you.
I think that I completely agree that both that's very important and also that that's something that the education system does not set us up well for.
How would you say you know the difference and how do you find out the difference between failure that means that you should maybe try again and keep going and keep knocking down that door or failure where you should probably take the hint that that's actually not the right thing for you and go and do something differently?
You better make your own.
