No one else has done that.
And I just thought,
Wow, that's proper leadership.
That's proper inspirational.
And a follow-up to that, I came to one of my first games, I think it was Keith Earls' debut at Musgrave Park.
That boot one, yeah.
I got a lift back to Limerick, back to Castle Troy Park Hotel, where I was staying, with Paulie and Keith.
And Paulie deliberately put me in the car with him for about two hour journey to speak to me, to again, one, make me feel welcome, but two,
try and help me help the team.
To this day, I've never come across a captain as forward-thinking and as inspirational as that man.
Yeah, it was probably one of the wisest things he did.
I don't know why he ever got Earlsy on board, but when you've got the natural talent of Batman, it's a lot of difference, isn't it?
Yeah, and that's one example.
There's another similar one that I use.
It still surprises me to this day how many rugby players don't carbohydrate load properly the day before a game.
So the analogy I use to people is, this is literally your petrol for the tank.
You can only store carbohydrate in your muscle, a little bit in your liver, but let's just go with your muscle for now.
If that's not full, if you fill it up to its max, you've got enough for about 60 to 80 minutes of exercise.
So we should just about get through a rugby game with a top up.
But will the players coming in still to this day play top level half full?
