And so one minister was arrested 48 hours after he lost his parliamentary immunity.
So this is going to be a very, very serious purge.
Yeah, no, Donald Tusk faced the very same problem.
That's why he's so delighted to see Magyar in power.
It was one of the first places he visited.
and Tusk faced a constitutional system which was a little more rigid than in Hungary.
What Magyar is doing, and it's a really interesting task, is trying to shape the constitution so that this kind of volatility doesn't happen again.
Hopefully in the future, there won't be super majorities where the ruling party rejigs the constitution to suit its aims.
So he's tried to put limits of eight years on how long someone can be prime minister, which would, coincidentally, rule out Viktor Orban from ever running
again, right?
But it is a really serious challenge.
Whether he can purge the judiciary, I'm pretty sure he's going to try the way Tusk did, but Tusk ran into lots of obstacles there.
Yeah, I mean, Orbán has been funneling tons of money to himself, to his friends, from his hometown to his relatives.
And the way to get that back is the controversial wealth tax, which Magyar has proposed, which is a 1% annual tax on all your assets over 2.817 million euro.
And now that is controversial, especially for people who have two houses and a business.
