There's a hastily placed metal ramp walkway that I can follow.
Thick cables run along the walls and ceiling, but as I walk, the space opens up.
Long dormant lights slowly turn on as I continue, only to see the cavern become like a cathedral of flesh, tissue hanging down like stalactites.
It's then that I can feel the heat, like being in a humid jungle.
I peel off layers of my jumpsuit to try to get some relief and leave them on the ground as I behold the sight.
The cables are drilled into this fleshy area.
There's something that resembles a supercomputer.
A sleek steel frame with wires and electrodes.
But it's wedged into something else.
Something pulsating ever so slightly, the color of amber, with what could be big red and blue veins on it.
A bit of it slops off, like when glaciers melt, and the cavern shakes ever so slightly.
There's nowhere else to go.
No control room.
No stairwells.
The whole base's AI seems to be running out of this cavernous room.
Then it makes sense to me.
If Leviathan is, as we all know, a sort of dying organism with flesh, would it not have a mind?
I leave the space, unable to bear the heat or the vastness of the entity before me.
I trudge up the stairs back to the empty spaceport.
The Leviathan sunrise has started.
