He had three runs and he didn't break 10 seconds or get extremely close to it.
And we must admit, we thought that he wanted a sub 10 out of those three runs and didn't get it.
The last one, when he won his 100 metre final at Brisbane,
you know the queen at the australian underage titles yesterday i saw it on saturday he waved to his family in the grandstand over the last 30 minutes 30 meters the ultimate showman they i was sitting not far behind them and they were so excited and waved back it was a beautiful moment but it sort of ruined his time it cost him a few tenths of a second but i have to say jared
It appeared as if he was struggling to come down of the high of the previous week of the Australian titles when he run such a blistering under 200 metres, which was a world record for under 20s.
And he just was a little bit flat.
But it also makes me think, and I'm going to bounce this one off you.
that maybe 200 metres just is his best distance.
And he's not fast out of the gates.
He takes a little while, two or three strides to warm up, and then, of course, he takes off.
But in a 200 metres, that's not as crucial.
And I wonder whether it is now cemented that 200 is his best distance.
Yes, and he's going to head over now to train with Noah Lyles.
And the last time he went there, he was on a podcast with Noah, and Noah loved it when Gaut said, yeah, I'm coming to get you.
And he thought it was quite hilarious.
But then guess what?
Gaut ran a time in the Australian titles that would have beaten Noah's bronze medal in the 200 metres in Paris.
So they will race in Czechoslovakia over 150 metres there.
In June, and that will be interesting because they will have been together.
