This deranged person should have not been on the street. The grandparents of 10-year-old Victoria Martins making a statement to the court before Jessica Kelly was sentenced Thursday morning. Prosecutors say Kelly had been using meth before babysitting Victoria at the girls' Albuquerque apartment in 2016.
They say Kelly let an unidentified man into the apartment, who then strangled Victoria to death.
Kelly took a plea deal, which the judge followed, agreeing to a 50-year prison sentence with six years suspended for a total of 44 years.
