Anyway, we ended up getting the deal done.

And where the fourteen million came in, so the deal was a hundred million, but as it turned out they didn't have much cash.

So they said uh they were a sort of high growth company.

And they said, Look, we'll give you ten million in cash and we'll give you ninety million in shares.

And obviously there's big risk in there because

Shares go down, y you know, you lose a lot of money.

And we had um like a lock up on the shares, so we couldn't sell them.

So yeah.

It was a six month lock up, so we couldn't sell them for six months.

So in that six months they could be worth, you know, nothing at one extreme or a lot more at the other extreme.

But as it turned out, they doubled in that six months.

And uh what happened at that time?

I sold and I was out, I was gone, you know.

Thanks very much, 'cause it was fourteen million.

And it was like more money than I'd ever seen by a long shot.

So but Eric stayed on for quite a while afterwards.

Yeah, well that was in the late nineties.

So I say fourteen million would have bought bought you

you know, the best house in Auckland.
