And I said, Well, you know, Barry told me he had to come back, not come back without an ad and uh he said, Well, you know, I've already told you it's not gonna happen and then he wandered off doing doing the things he did in the boat shop and I didn't know what to do.
So I went to his office and just sat in a chair.
And like an hour later he comes back and he goes, Oh, what are you doing here?
And I said, Well, I don't know what else to do because I How old are you at this how old are you at this point?
Twenty one.
Yeah.
Yeah, maybe twenty.
Twenty, twenty one.
And um
He he basically took pity on me and bought something and uh yeah, went back to the office and I had a sale.
Um, I think in a way, yes.
I think not in a not in a loud kind of salesmany sort of way, but uh I think I was quite good at negotiating things.
So talking my way into things.
Yeah, I think I've always been, you know, reasonably articulate and stuff and being able to tell a story well and
you know, get on with someone if I had to and those sort of things, but not in the way, you know, you would envisage a salesperson being sort of loud and gregarious and that sort of thing.
Not like that.
That ring true?
Yeah.
Well w one of the things I learnt along the course of selling is people say no a lot and you know, you don't take people you know, if they say no, you don't take it at at first first shot.
