His father is English.
He read The Call of the Wild, Jack London's book, and decided he didn't want to be an engineer in London.
He moves to Western Canada back when it was truly wild in the 1920s, and he becomes a fur trapper.
And then builds up a huge trading post.
He sells it to the Hudson Bay Company.
And my father grew up in that environment.
And then they moved to a town called Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
Great name.
And he loved flying.
He enlisted at 16 during World War II.
And he just loved flying planes.
