But the thing about Mark English was when he was fifth in the World Junior Championships 14 years ago, he was on his already his road to becoming a doctor.

He was beginning his medical studies.

And to think that he had to put his career on hold to get the very best out of himself, because three years ago he basically turned professional, did it full-time for the first time.

And before that, he was on his feet in hospital rotations and trying to pass exams.

And it's a very, very arduous degree, as we know.

Uh, but that is a huge sacrifice to make.

And because of that, I think Mark and the way that he won it, it was a suff you know, a championship record in the semifinal, and then, you know, dominating the final, completely controlling the race.

And then you have the Rashida Adelecke story, you know, had no season of any consequence really to, you know, put a a silver medal around her neck.

And she, I think, began to appreciate that, you know

The upper graph up to the Paris Olympics of her career hit this uh hit the skids for you know at least a couple of years, and she did a lot of setbacks.

And this was so joyous for her to come back in an Irish record of you know a very limited training season.

That points to you know, does she do the two hundred or four hundred meters next year?

Does she combine the two?

Uh Andrew Cosgren, uh at thirty years of age, three times a European championship finalist, once a world championship finalist, was very

Unhappy with his world championship final uh performance last year, to see him break through out of that pack, you know, to absolutely grab the medal when he just had his chance.

And it's a career high for Andrew Cosgran.

It may never, we know, it may never get any better for Andrew Cosgran because such is the depth of 1500-meter running.

But it may well, he is the Irish record holder at the mile, and he's not eclipsed people like Eamon Cochlin and you know Frank O'Marr and Mark S'Sullivan in doing that.

So that was a joy to watch.
