You're going to have issues like this.
And unfortunately, these issues have popped up from time to time here now at the beginning of the season.
Yeah, I mean, I think that a lot of it is just bad defense.
I don't even think it's so much so like the miscommunication.
Obviously, Simeon and Robert Jr.
in center field with the play you were alluding to, that was a bit of a communication issue.
But some of these others are just individually bad.
bad defensive performances, which really needs to clean itself up.
Now, the run prevention thing that David Sturge was talking about involving Pete Alonzo, I mean, I think that was, as we've seen, more of an excuse than anything else to say, like, oh, this guy was so bad defensively at first base.
They didn't want to bring him back.
There was a clubhouse issue, and they weren't giving him five years.
That was the bottom line.
I don't think he's not a Met because of his defense at first base.
It's just a thing he threw out there because he replaced him with a guy at Jorge Polanco who's barely played any first base.
Then when Polanco goes down, he throws another guy there that's never played or barely played first base.
So obviously, he wasn't trying to upgrade the defense at first base.
He was just getting rid of Pete Alonzo.
But...
But for those of us who are fans and watch his team on a daily basis, what are we going to keep harping back on?
Well, that statement, because you said it.
