like it was just like a really early example of homosexuality like someone accepting it early on but my point was that the 1920s like the actual crackdown and like the sort of documents of cruising decreased as progression like towards homosexuality increased then all of a sudden we have the war and we have the depression and we have like a really intense like policing again of gay men that then increases the need for cruising yeah

But I was going to want to talk.

i kind of like need because the society at large frowns upon homosexuality so i wanted to talk a little bit about homosexuality in the animal kingdom yeah of course yeah because it's amazing well i'm trying to think i have one other no yeah you go first i have one other study that's on no i will get back to this why what drives people to cruise it's really interesting but let's go to animals okay so
I think what's important is when you think about people studying cruising, there's going to be a lack of evidence and research because there's a lack of research on homosexuality period within the sciences.
And that's an important history that like we as gay science communicators should always talk about.
So truly like after the middle ages, when Catholicism took over and sodomy and like gay sex and being gay was completely frowned upon and
there and became illegal scientists were not studying it they they it was in it was entrenched in their belief so as like science starts to progress as a field people are ignoring left right and center like all the homosexual sexual acts that are happening all throughout the animal kingdom like not documenting them as such
