And I think this is what the Republicans are speaking to.
One of them is, is we're hung up a lot on, did he instigate the riots of January 6th?
Where's the line between free speech?
How did it go?
For me, a question that I come up against again and again is if that mob was more powerful.
And I know, and I've had to my house, the officer, some of the officers who were beaten, someone who was killed twice and had to be shocked out of it and recovered.
And
I'm very aware of the kind of violence that was visited on January 6th and to our law enforcement.
But the question around President Trump is if that mob had been more powerful and if Pence had refused to validate what the votes were, and do we really have any question in our mind what President Trump would have done if it had been effective?
That's the part for me that gets tricky.
Even if people say, look, he wasn't fully instigating it, there's some conversation there.
But it was very clear he didn't want Pence to validate the results.
And I think if it had been handed forward to him, my personal belief on what I've observed of what he says about it is he would have continued and taken power through undemocratic means for a second term.
The other thing for me is the issue of abortion and the way that it was handled within the Republican Party.
A lot of people, liberals included, have said that Roe v. Wade is a difficult piece of law for a bunch of different reasons.
We've done a lot of polling, and we understand precisely where Americans are, 80% to 97% of Americans are around the topic.
What bothered me was that there was literally no preparation that was laid in the removal of a fundamental right for people that they enjoyed for 50 years.
There was no effort made to deal with insurance companies, law enforcement, what doctors are supposed to do.
It was like yanked away.
