If you recall, about three weeks ago, the Supreme Court issued a preliminary order that basically said an earlier lawsuit challenging these rules
had been filed too soon.
And that set us off on this three weeks of uncertainty about whether states were going to have to make major changes to their mail ballot procedures in order to have those votes counted.
And the Supreme Court today said, no, they don't have to make those changes.
So it's a temporary decision.
And it goes back to this executive order that Donald Trump uh issued about five months ago.
And this is a challenge to that executive order and it's important to keep that in mind.
The Supreme Court said that executive order, which among other things, directs the postal service to uh restrict who can get mailed ballots.
The Supreme Court said that executive order in and of itself doesn't harm anybody.
It doesn't harm the states that sued to challenge it.
So it's a temporary decision.
