And those divisions have become even wider over the past year because Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, the UAE, matched

They were the main external backers of anti-Ahuthi factions in Yemen, but they are at odds and the UAE was forced to withdraw its troops from Yemen late last year. matched

And so that has deepened the split on the anti-Ahuthi side. matched

And so what we saw as this offensive started was forces in disarray. matched

Many of the factions that should have been defending the coast simply turned around and retreated. matched

You had fighters who were selling their weapons by the side of the road and running away. matched

And there's been a blame game for the past few days where rival commanders have been accusing one another of betrayal, of abandoning the fight. matched

So the Houthis, yes, they are a stronger force than they were when the war started. matched
