I I I would I would bet my you know, sell my house and and and my entire family twice if I could get the key to the secret archive of the Vatican, but I'm never gonna get it.
It's one of these kind of forgotten sights of Nazi Germany, but it's absolutely essential that we know more about it.
So when Hitler reintroduces conscription, almost as soon as he comes into office in 1933, that's still in defiance of the treaty after the First World War.
What's far more sinister is the German air force.
And that is developed in secret in the first few years of the Third Reich and not unveiled publicly until 1935.
And by the time everything is unveiled, it's too late for the international community to put the brakes on and say, hey, you shouldn't be doing that.
You will soon see the Germans producing 200,000 tons of oil a month from their refineries in Eastern Germany.
Hitler notoriously said that he wanted the Reich to last for a thousand years.
What he set about trying to achieve was this incredibly ambitious building program of massive buildings that owed their style to Greek and Roman buildings, but also were just epic in scale.
You can see they're using the ancient classical word and therefore giving a kind of ancient legitimacy to what he was trying to achieve.
Now, what he was trying to achieve at Germania and also in places like Nuremberg were building projects that mankind had never seen before.
Again, these are buildings that simply don't work on a human level.
They depersonalize you, they are there to show you that you're always gonna be smaller than the state itself.
Hitler was trying to win over the working classes who had not voted for him in the 1932 elections.

And the kind of things the German middle class enjoyed, he wanted to make sure that the German factory workers and their families could enjoy the summer at the beach.
It's three miles long.
And you look at it, and it just stretches away all the way down the coastline into the horizon.
It's sort of epic, and it's also just absurd.
And of course, you're building these big complexes and putting investment there.
