Yeah, thanks, Jonathan, and thanks for having me.
I'm a longtime listener, first-time guest, so really excited for our conversation today.
I came to healthcare when I was in business school, and I was really interested in combining my interest in technology, and at that time, kind of more broadly discussing
social impact.
And I started just putting feelers out there and learning about different areas and reading up on different social problems within the U.S.
And honestly, health care was the one that I was most drawn to, felt like
something that touches all of us, something that I personally was very passionate about, seeing family members deal with certain health experiences, my own health care experiences.
And I ended up at the time I was just blogging and I was starting to just share ideas.
That's the best way I know how to learn is actually synthesizing what I'm learning and then
putting it out there in the world and starting these conversations is something I've always done.
But something I wrote got the attention of the then chief of staff to Steve Jobs.
And he reached out to me and said, why don't you come spend the summer at Apple?
We want to do more in health care.
And I was like, absolutely.
Like, what an incredible, incredible opportunity.
And I
was just back in San Francisco for a month for my book tour and got to catch up with him and thank him for everything he's done.
And we've since, he's now a VC and he's invested in one of my companies, which is cool.
But that was really the turning point for me, having that opportunity to be at Apple.
They put me in charge of the healthcare medical segment for the App Store.
