I went back to school to get my MPH when I was
30 something years old and 35 years old, I think I was.
Mostly because I was like, okay, I feel like I'm a decent investor.

That was like a question I could not confidently answer.
And I probably didn't need to go to school to do that, but I like school.

Any product has downstream effects that impact the entire healthcare system.
Being able to learn how to ask those questions and become a little bit more skeptical, become a balanced skeptic, helped me kind of refine my framework so that I could funnel my time, energy, and resources into companies that I feel like
as I say in the book, like align the margin and the mission where they are growing because they're making healthcare better.
There's a lot of ways to make money in healthcare that frankly makes healthcare a lot worse in my mind.
And they can take someone else's money.
I'm not interested in those kind of things anymore.
And I don't think that founders have bad intentions.
I think they just don't necessarily ask
hard questions about how they might be worried about their primary stakeholders, but their secondary stakeholders, they don't really think about.
