Another thing I should note, too, is that there's a bit of AI fatigue on Wall Street right now.
This chip stock rally ran so hot and was so extreme that I think there's a sense of folks kind of looking for other opportunities.
At the beginning of the year, I talked a lot with investors about kind of market gains broadening beyond the AI race to things like small caps or to industrials, for example.
And that scenario, which a lot of folks had been hoping for six months ago, got a bit derailed by the war breaking out with Iran and everything that came after.
But now investors are looking beyond the AI investing frenzy and wondering where that next opportunity, that next outperformance in the market is going to come from.
So in spite of these uncertainties looming over markets in the second quarter, whether that was the war in Iran or a really rapidly shifting outlook on interest rates, we saw double-digit gains for all major U.S.
stock indexes across the board.
And that was really because of this frenetic chip stock rally, right?
Investors were piling into shares of semiconductor companies.
This has emerged as volatility.
The kind of next leg of the AI trade, there are still some key risks hanging over markets.
Investors are starting to look around and wonder when we'll start to see these good vibes spread throughout the market beyond just the tech sector.
Today, we saw pretty significant rallies.
Stocks are up a ton.
Investors are feeling pretty relieved to hear the news of this ceasefire.
I think in terms of what happens from here, that's the big question.
And that depends on the negotiations between the United States and Iran, and it depends on the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz.
Yeah, I would definitely say it qualifies.
We've heard the word taco thrown around a lot today on our phone calls with investors.
The phrase taco, it kind of dates back to the Liberation Day tariffs last year that also sent stocks tumbling in April of 2025.
