But the thing is that with a value stock, you expect its earnings to grow over time.
They tend to belong to like really steady companies like banks, oil companies, industrial conglomerates.
So Zachary, he has started to buy some value stocks and he has allocated one fifth of his portfolio into that.
So he's buying shares of gold, gold mining companies.
He's buying some realty trust and they all pay a hefty dividend.
There is this whole argument that you shouldn't try to buy things at the top because you're buying it at an expensive value and you have missed most of the gains.
While that's true to some extent, data also shows that records happen in clusters.
So yeah, sure, you might have missed a lot of the rally.
But since this is the stock market and we don't know what exactly is going to happen, there is this chance that stocks keep going higher and higher from here.
And since records happen in clusters, it could be that tomorrow we get another record or the day after that we get a low.
So even if it's a record, you should still continue to invest.
It's a big debate.
A lot of people think that the rally that we're seeing right now, a lot of which has been led by NVIDIA, is a bubble and others think that it's not.
There's no like hard and fast rule of like, okay, here's the three things that are happening and that means it constitutes a bubble.
In NVIDIA's case, it seems like a lot of people expect AI to continue to benefit NVIDIA as a company and to continue to lead to higher profits and revenue.
Now, whether that actually happens or it doesn't happen, the only time will tell, right?
So for now, it seems like most people don't think $800 for a share is a lot.
The retail investors I spoke with, a lot of them said that Bitcoin being near records has propelled them to consider buying shares of crypto miners.
