True story.

If you go back and you look at pictures, I'm the little black dot sitting at all his meets.

The black dot.

I kid you not.

So Dick Fosbury is in college at Oregon State.

They used to do what they called the Western Roll.

Everybody would roll over the bar, and his college coach would not let him do the flop.

So he would practice after practice, and I would be putting the bar up for him.

And so he'd be jumping over the bar and he'd teach me how to flop and all this stuff.

So the Olympics come on and he wins a gold medal in the Olympics doing the flop.

And I'm like, that's my friend.

You know?

And years later, I get inducted into the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame.
