I love it.

I think about it a lot.

And it's made me feel as if Winston Churchill is a real person who I'd have loved to have met.

And I love that idea of spending time after dinner, not rushing, not letting the table be cleared too quickly.

We always make the mistake in my family of clearing the table too quickly.

Leon is a terrible one for clearing the table.

Yeah, and to just sit and be.

My parents are good sitters and beers at the dinner table.

They sometimes sit at the dinner table for three hours.

So they sit and then they do the quick crossword.

This is why my daughter, Belle, loves going there so much.

Because after dinner, my dad, who she knows as Papa, gets the Guardian quick crossword.

Not a difficult one, just the quick one.

And they do it as a family.

And Belle always knows lots of the answers.

And Papa affects to be incredibly impressed.

I think he is impressed, but he says things like,

bell you're so clever you know and bell loves that because it makes her feel a million dollars and they do this for an hour and then they do the word search or you know the simple puzzles um but they have fun and it goes on till 10 o'clock and then they all go to bed

And I love that.
