It's the colleges which are doing the most for their students in terms of those outcomes, which are going to do the best in our ranking this year.
Princeton comes at the top.
There's a lot of the usual suspects make up the top 10.
But there are a pattern you can see in the types of colleges which are doing very well in our ranking.
Some of those are particularly around STEM-related subjects and business-oriented schools.
So Babson College, which focuses very much on entrepreneurship, get into the top 10.
New Jersey Institute of Technology do very well.
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology are in the top 20 and haven't been at that end of the rankings for us before.
So that's a big part of what we're doing.
It's not all of it.
We do also have a big survey looking at the learning environment, which I think we'll talk about in a bit.
But this is obviously your money briefing and money is a big part of why people go to college.
It's a gigantic issue.
investment for students and they want to make sure that they're getting the biggest bang for their buck and what we're doing is looking at what we think those students at a given college would go on to and what the college is actually contributing for those students again it's the value that the college is adding for those students that we're measuring not just their success but the contribution of the college to that success
So we measured this with one of the largest surveys of verified college students in the US, as far as we're aware, has ever been conducted.
conducted interviews with more than 60,000 students across the US.
And what we asked them was about their satisfaction with and the frequency of the opportunities they got to talk to their tutors, the type of learning experiences they got, the kind of learning facilities that they were being taught in, the preparation time.
for their career that they were given by their college.
All of that was factored in alongside those student outcomes.
And we think that the best colleges not only are providing those bigger salaries at the end of the day, but also in the view of their students are the best places to learn.
