Um, you know, in the trade today they got a a fifth, right? matched

So yeah, they gave up a lot of high picks, but y y what's the difference between a a second and a fifth? matched

You know, y yeah, you have a better chance uh in the second than the fifth, but you still have a chance and so matched

So I definitely see teams like I said, Tampa and Oilers historically, when they've been making these trades, giving up picks, they're usually getting th some late picks back as well. matched

Um and that mitigates the risk a little bit. matched

Well from a from like a cat perspective and what it might tell us about um their plans. matched

You they wouldn't give up all those assets for the double retention if if it wasn't necessary. matched

And I saw some reports well Frederick's hurt, maybe he's out for the rest of the regular season and on L T R. matched

I don't think that they would give if he was gonna be on L T R the rest of the season then it wouldn't matter if he was as lower cap hit or not. matched

So the fact that they did the double retention tells me they think there there's a a pretty good chance that he's coming back. matched

Tells me alternatively, it could be that and also that maybe they have a move for Kane because or or that Kane's gonna uh stay on L T R because again if if if they're gonna move Kane and they're gonna be under the cap, then again you really want players at as low cap it as possible. matched

So in terms of a cap perspective, getting him at the five seventy five, it tells me they expect him to play, or if they're thinking maybe he will be up for the regular season at a minimum then. matched

they're thinking, well if that's the case we might we'll we'll be ch uh trying to get keen off our books. matched

So that that's what that was my takeaway from it. matched

And certainly anytime you can get a player at five seventy five less than a league minimum of seven seventy five, I mean that certainly makes things fit into your into your cap sheet a lot nicer. matched

Yeah, so with setting Savoy down, they they kinda write on that line where they're actually technically not using L T I R today. matched

Um so that makes the numbers look when you look at the site and see how much space it it looks a little funny because it looks like they don't have that much space, but then they have this L T I R pool which they could potentially access. matched

So if Cain is activated, basically the numbers that you see there for like deadline cap space of a hundred thousand, that's what they have available b matched

That's what they would have to work with if King's gonna be activated like today or tomorrow. matched
